Project Overview
DayBal is a finance app built for people who find traditional budgeting tools heavy and overwhelming. Most apps are slow and overloaded with features no one touches. The goal here was the opposite: a fast, clean way to see where your money goes each day, built around habits instead of spreadsheets.
The core problem was friction. Logging an expense took too long, there were too many categories, and no simple view of the day. So the app was stripped back to one job – make tracking spending effortless – with every screen designed around speed and clarity.
Design & Approach
The starting point was the core action: adding an expense in seconds. From there we shaped a calm, mobile-first interface around a single daily balance view, with light weekly insights instead of overwhelming charts. Every component was designed for speed, clarity, and a tool that feels effortless to open every day.

Ensuring real-time environmental feedback was a core focus throughout the development of the virtual reality experience. In immersive spaces, users expect their actions—whether through gaze, gesture, or motion—to instantly influence their surroundings. To meet this expectation, we engineered responsive interaction loops that delivered immediate visual, auditory, and haptic feedback. Dynamic environmental cues—like lighting changes, object animations, and spatial audio—were triggered based on real-time input to reinforce user presence and immersion. We conducted extensive testing across multiple VR platforms and hardware configurations to validate latency, synchronization accuracy, and the consistency of user feedback. Performance optimizations such as lightweight shaders, level-of-detail adjustments, and input prediction algorithms helped maintain fluid responsiveness.
